If the original "rules" of general ettiquette had been set in stone, so to speak, and said rules were meant to be followed absolutely, we would have found ourselves in an unfathomable crisis more than a century ago. While many themes of ettiquette haven't changed (and may never change at all) the advent of technologies such as laptops, smart phones and the like, and the emergence of a society focused on Planetary Preservation, an update of sorts is needed in the ways of ettiquette.
